Verified Buyer |A defective/damaged leather sofa and loveseat
We purchased a new leather sofa, loveseat and recliner. Hanks delivered items that were damaged and leaning to the right.
They sent out a technician in six weeks. He examined the furniture and said they were probably damaged during shipment because it looked as if they had been stacked on the sides that were damaged. He said they would need to be repaired and it would take about two weeks to get the parts delivered. I called after about three weeks and they are telling us the part was on a harbor freight and would be delivered the middle of March (six months).
They couldnt guarantee they would be able to schedule a technician. I didnt buy from a thrift store nor did we purchase defective or damaged furniture.
They said there are no refunds or exchanges. We paid a product we didnt receive.

Last week me and my husband stopped by the Hanks in Destin Florida. We were looking to full furnish our condo and heard this was an excellent place to stop.
We were greeted by Kayleb. He was very nice and assisted us in finding a sectional we liked. I was shocked to here moments later the same gentleman who was so pleasant, using profanity behind the desk. "F that B he's a wussy (with a p)" and on and on.
I was both appalled and disgusted. Very unprofessional! I've worked in sales for the last 40 years and that is not in any way shape or form how sales staff is supposed to conduct themselves around potential customers.
At that point I'd heard enough. We took our business elsewhere.

I bought a recliner from Hanks Furniture in Jan. 2021.
I purchased an extended warranty for the recliner and after 16 months the colors on the leather weren't there anymore.
I waited because of covid for over two months to get the product even though the manager told us 2 weeks. We keep all our furniture covered with a breathable cover and when we took the cover of there was several spots with no color. We talked with a couple of furniture repair companies and they stated that it was caused by improper preparation. You will notice from the pictures that the problem is on the back and the front of armrest.
It is a shame that you spend $1000 for what you think was a great product but then compare it to the one you bought 9 years earlier from Big Lots for $400 that still looks like new.
I have been waiting for Hanks to call me back regarding the warranty not covering the poor workmanship but the only time I get an answer is when I go by there.
This should not be the actions of a reputable company. You'll notice the 8 year old $45 stool in front is better looking than the recliner.

Hanks lies
When my wife bought a dining set (table and 8 chairs) we were told by the salesman that it was made in the United States of America. We were a little disappointed when we were told it would take 7 weeks for delivery, but we agreed to wait.
We also bought and paid for a warranty and delivery and set up. When delivery time came ( just before Thanksgiving) we were told that it would be late, then we were told it would not arrive until near Christmas, then January 1st, that is when I went back to the store and had a talk with the salesman. He said our furniture was on a container in High Point North Carolina. Being an intermodal logistics professional for over 35 years, all my bells and whistles went off High Point North Carolina yeah OK on a container ah no sorry..
long story short, after he disappeared for 10 or 15 minutes he confessed that the furniture was on a container in Mexico. In a nut shell this furniture was not made in the U.S., it was not even made in Mexico. If it was on a container in Mexico it came across the Pacific to be shipped to the United States. Deal is off money will be refunded ( the liars say ) my bet is it will take lawyers.
Hanks Salesman Clayton, in Dothan Alabama is a bad liar 3 times over. The furniture is not made in America but boy oh boy we definitely got made in America
